What began in 1979 as a group of 15 dedicated quilters has grown tremendously in the past few years to our current size of almost 200.  Until June 1997, the guild met monthly in Shelburne, Vermont but in the Fall of 1997 moved to its new larger home - the Essex Alliance Church on Old Stage Road in Essex Junction.
We meet at 7 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, September through June, to share our love of quilting.

As part of our monthly meeting, we have a program which usually includes a guest speaker, a workshop or a demonstration. We also have many small circle groups that meet throughout the month on a regular basis to work on quilting projects and enjoy the fellowship of other quilters.

Among our quilting activities, we participate in the making of charity quilts.  In 1999 we were able to donate about 23 quilts to Women Helping Battered Women, Hope Lodge (American Cancer Society), Pediatric Oncology and Adult Oncology at UVM College of Medicine, and the Ronald McDonald House.  Our Charity quilts effort continues to be a popular way for our quilters to give back to the community.

But that's not all.  We also sponsor mystery quilts, quilt challenges, and as a highlight of our year, we sponsor a quilt show.  Our "charter" is to share our love of quilting and to encourage this wonderful form of needlework.  There is no better way than through our quilt show.

We are very proud of the activities as well as the feeling of community the guild promotes.  If we can provide you with any more information about either the show or our guild, please do not hesitate to e-mail us.
