"What If..." with Nina Clotfelter

We are excited to have Nina Clotfelter speak at our guild with her lecture “What If…”. Nina has a “What If” mentality and she’ll share with you the quilting adventures she’s had with some funny stories and lots of samples in this inspiring lecture about the world of thread. This is a FUN lecture about all the things you didn’t know you

needed to know about thread! Nina has been featured at several of GE Quilt Designs virtual quilt retreats (attended by hundreds around the world) as a guest speaker to provide ideas for quilting the retreat projects. Also she has taught classes at the GE FamFest held each September in Minnesota. She has been well received at both the retreats and FamFest and has been brought back each year. And in case you didn't know, GE Quilt Designs has grown into a multi-million dollar business over the past 5-10 years...doing so even during the pandemic.
Workshop Information along with Information for Additional Lectures
LECTURES AND WORKSHOP WITH NINA CLOFELTER! Nina is in Vermont in October at the invitation of 3 quilt guilds, The Common Threads Quilt Guild in Johnson, the Franklin County Quilt Guild in St. Albans, and our own Champlain Valley Quilt Guild. You can attend her lecture, “Threads - What’s the Big Deal” with no guest fee at: -Common Threads Quilt Guild, Oct. 8, 6:30 Crosby Center (part of the Most Holy Name of Jesus parish campus), 301 Brooklyn Street, in Morrisville, at 6:30 pm; doors open at 6 pm. Franklin County Quilt Guild, Oct. 9 Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 38 Grand Avenue, in Swanton, at 6:30 pm; doors open at 6 pm. Registration is open to all 3 guilds for Nina Clotfelter’s all-day workshop, Chop It Like It’s Hot!, on Sunday, October 11. The location is yet to be determined. It will either be at the Town Hall in Johnson or in the Conference Center at the NMC hospital campus in St Albans. If you want to take the workshop, please send a $45 check, payable to CTQG, to Sharon Perry, PO Box 517, Montgomery Center, VT 05450. Your space in the workshop is guaranteed once your check is received. There is also a $25 fee for the workshop kit which will be paid to Nina during the class. Please also email [email protected] if you are sending a check to enroll in the class. We were intrigued by this workshop as it sounds like a lot of fun. Nina writes: “We all have scraps left over from every project we do! Let's make a BEAUTIFUL wall hanging with them! You'll have a fun time practicing your free motion quilting, learning your sewing machine better, and learning about threads and playing with different types of thread! And here's the best part...you ready...you can NOT do anything to make this project not be beautiful! That's right! You can NOT mess this up!!! I PROMISE!!!”
Bi-Monthly Guild Sew Ins

Guild members meet twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:3- p.m. in the classroom at Yankee Pride Quilts. Come for the camaraderie of sewing with others. You can work on your own projects or help out with making quilts which
