December 2019 BOM Information

Look at that pile of pillowcases that we donated!! Congratulations to everyone who participated!
For November the block of the month is Magic Mountains (Delectable Mountains). Instructions are in the previous newsletter and on the web. Hope you can make several. At the November meeting, stop by the table to pick up fabric for our December project.
In December we hope to collect pillowcases to distribute to adults and children who will not be able to be home for the holidays. It is our hope that everyone in the guild will make at least one. In spirit of giving and since one of the guild’s objectives is to provide comfort to those in need, we thought you would enjoy providing a little cheer to members of our community.
In November we will have yardage to distribute so that you can more easily participate. Some of the yardage is precut to make one pillowcase. We will also have 2 yards of coordinating fabric to make two pillowcases. We hope to have fabric for close to 100 pillowcases!! If you are using donated fabric, please know that our original instructions called for different cutting dimensions:
Cut off selvages and then cut width of fabric so that the bun and hot dog are the same (as large as you can)
Bun (cuff) cut 9” x width of fabric
Hot dog (main body) cut 27” x width of fabric
This way if you have two coordinating fabrics 1 yard each, once you cut off the 9” width you can swap buns and make two different pillowcases! Let the fun begin!!
