Explore the mystery and controversy about the Crop Circles with quilter Joanne Shapp. What are these huge patterns that appear in crop fields around the world each year? Are they made by people or is something else going on?
Joanne fell in love with the Crop Circles in 2005. Since then, she has been to England four times to investigate the Circles and has been in seventy different ones. She immediately saw them as giant quilt patterns and she has made over 30 quilts based on actual Crop Circles. Her quilts have won numerous Viewer’s Choice awards, as well as Judges’ Ribbons at quilt shows. “ Woolstone Hill, August 2005” was “Best in Show” at the CVQG show in 2011.
Her slide show presentation explores the history, mystery, and controversy of the Crop Circle phenomena, with aerial photos and pictures taken from within the formations, as well as photos of some of her quilts inspired by the Circles. Special bonus pictures show some unusual things seen in local Vermont fields! Several of her quilts will also be on display. Come explore the beauty and mystery of the Crop Circles!
