Nancie Ravenel, Objects Conservator of the Shelburne Museum will be our guest speaker at our online meeting on Tuesday, November 3rd to present her lecture “Quilt Care, Display and Conservation at Shelburne Museum”, an interactive talk about her work. As an objects conservator for over 22 years at the Museum, Nancie examines, documents, and treats works of fine art, folk art and decorative arts. She collaborates with members of the Collections and Buildings Preservation departments to deliver preventive care to the Museum’s collections. Among her specialties are the conservation treatment of painted and gilded

surfaces, conservation treatment of decorative arts, and general collections care and preservation. Her influence has spread nationally as Nancie has supervised the work of over 50 interns and fellows. She has conducted general collections surveys for historic houses and led discussions on art conservation in a museum setting for students in undergraduate and graduate level college courses. What a delight to have her present to our guild!
