How it works....
Block of the Month 2019-2020
This year you will see a lot of changes for block of the month. We would like to encourage you all to participate by offering you lots of opportunities to experiment with different techniques, fabrics, and styles. Since our guild is committed to “provide an encouraging environment in which members may share, practice, and exchange ideas”, we would like to present you with many options to engage.
This year there will be many choices. The first choice will be your block. For some months you can choose between two blocks for which we will offer instructions either basic or challenge. For other months we will provide instructions on trying a new technique and let you come up with a block.
In addition, once you make a block you can choose to bring it to exhibit it on the block of the month design wall and then take it home or you can choose to submit it to the raffle. If you choose to keep it you can incorporate it into a sample quilt; we will offer setting ideas by June.
You will also be able to choose which fabrics you use; either from your stash or from ours (shed fabric). We will bring in a collection each month to be used in the following month’s block. We are working on keeping things fat quarter friendly. We are also committed to getting you the instructions early. .. See the September block below. They will be in the newsletter and on the website.
So stop by the block of the month table each month, check out what people are doing, and grab some fabric for your next block. Of course we will also have sample blocks for you to see.
